ABSTRACT

In this article we collect some recent results concerning stability in quantum mechanics. The spectral characterization of quantum stable and unstable states is discussed and two examples presented. The interest in this area comes mainly from the discoveries of classical chaos and dynamical localization, i.e., “quantum suppression of classical diffusion due to chaos in some periodic driven systems”. The last topic of this paper is devoted to the problem of translating such ideas to general driven systems.
