Local similarity solutions are obtained for the flow of water at 4^oC past a continuously moving semi-infinite plate in the upward direction. Velocity and temperature profiles are shown on graphs and the numerical values of {-ƒ” (0)} and {-θ’ (0)} are listed in a Table for both Gr/Re² (> or < 0) (aiding or opposing flows). The effects of Gr/Re² (> or < 0) and viscous dissipative heat on the velocity and temperature field are discussed.
