ABSTRACT

A pitting corrosion mechanism has been proposed to calculate the impedance for a duplex stainless steel immersed in an ammonium chloride and diethylamine chloride aqueous solution at temperatures of 30, 45, 60 and 80 ºC. An expression was developed for the faradaic impedance, leading to an equivalent circuit which is consistent with the experimental results. Impedance diagrams present a pseudo-inductive behaviour associated with an adsorption process. An expression for faradaic admittance was developed through a differential equation of fractional order.
