ABSTRACT

The growing demand for enantiopure compounds in the life science has stimulated an increased interest in asymmetric catalysis. The emerging utility of chiral nanocatalysts resides not only in their abilities to catalyze a variety of asymmetric reactions, but also in their capacities to promote the reactions more efficiently (better activities and selectivities) under heterogeneous conditions than the conventional homogeneous catalysts and to provide practical advantages such as easy separation and efficient recycling of the catalysts. Thus, asymmetric nanocatalysis has become increasingly important as a key green technology for the production of chiral and nonracemic organic compounds.  In this review, we report on the recent progress of nanocatalysis in asymmetric organic transformations.
