ABSTRACT

In recent years, intensive researches have been conducted on liver fibrosis. The reversibility of liver fibrosis and the feasibility of anti-fibrosis have been determined in experimental models and clinical practice. These novel treatment strategies for liver fibrosis target all aspects of the fibrosis process, the core of which is the activation of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs). Therefore, this article aims to provide a new train of thought for prevention and treatment of liver fibrosis, via summarizing mechanism and candidate antifibrotic drugs in liver fibrosis.
