ABSTRACT

Rapid advancements in digital platforms create new opportunities for technology-based exercise modalities to enhance individual health. The aim of this case report was to determine the feasibility of implementing Nintendo Switch Ring Fit Adventure (NSRFA) exergame to improve balance and mobility outcomes in an individual with an acquired brain injury (ABI). A 41-year-old female with an ABI completed a 6-week intervention comprising the NSRFA video game. Balance and mobility tests were completed pre- and post-intervention. The 6-week intervention was well tolerated by the participant and completed without assistance, with all tests demonstrating improvements ranging from 0.9% to 117.0%. These findings support the feasibility of NSRFA exergame to improve balance and mobility for individuals with neurological impairments such as an ABI.
