ABSTRACT

A new approach to the theoretical description of the classical theory of Ostwald ripening has been proposed. The model developed in the present approach is based on a new equation describing the growth kinetics of a spherical particle different from these used until now. A new more simple and easy for application solution of the continuity equation in the particles dimensions space is proposed. The model developed here accounts automatically for the Influence of the initial volume fraction and predicts correctly the experimentally determined time dependence of ρ at t→∞ -ρ~t1/3. The comparison of the theoretically obtained forms of the distribution function with the available experimental data, show a good correlation between the present theory and the experiment.
