ABSTRACT This work presents a review concerning the velocity and the 2D temperature distribution in steady state, laminar forced flow for Newtonian fluids in rectangular ducts. The paper investigates the hydrodynamics and the thermal behaviour in H1 and H2 boundary conditions, producing numerical results concerning temperature distributions and Nusselt numbers in both slug flow and fully developed laminar flow. These results enrich and complete the previous reviews in this field.
