ABSTRACT

We examined various fixation methods for the molecular analysis using paraffin-embedded tissues. Methacarn fixation was the best among tested in terms of recovery of protein, DNA and RNA from paraffin-embedded tissue samples. The quality of isolated molecules was good enough for quantitative analysis in Western blotting, RT-PCR and DNA-direct sequencing.
