Within the synthesis of heterocyclic sulphur and nitrogen containing compounds. 1,3,4-thiadiazoles are attractive targets for drug design due to their use in medicine. These compounds have shown various pharmacological activities such as antimicrobial, antiinflammatory, anticonvulsant, antihypertensive, local anesthetic, carcinostatic and hypoglycemic activities. The synthesis and biological activities of 2,5-disubstituted-1,3,4-thidiazoles have been described in this review.
