ABSTRACT

A dramatic change has occurred in laser researches in Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute. Five years ago, JAERI strongly concentrated the application of tunable dye lasers for Atomic Vapor Laser Isotope Separation. Nowadays, the coherent  X-ray generation has become important. First, the application of a tunable ring dye laser in Atomic Vapor Laser Isotope Separation has been briefly reviewed. Secondary, the development of Chirped Pulse Amplification laser with high saturation fluence gain materials, which is now proceeding in the newly established facility of Kansai Research Establishment, has been introduced.
