I reviewed the cluster growth characteristics in ferromagnetic colloidal, Lennard-Jones molecular, quantum percolation and microorganic systems. The similarities and differences in the growth mode among those different systems are clearly illustrated and described. The application of the various types of self-organisation to nanodevices and rheological materials are also discussed.
