ABSTRACT

The crystal architecture of molecular materials plays a deciding role in determination of their magnetic properties. The architecture of such materials is shown to depend on the molecular features present in the compounds employed. A general design strategy includes molecular magnetic engineering and crystal magnetic engineering. This review summarizes the strategies towards molecular design and crystal engineering to obtain molecular-based magnets through polymetallic coupling systems and our efforts in this field.
