ABSTRACT Gas or vapor adsorption and small-angle scattering (SAS) are nowadays well established and widely used techniques for studying the geometric and pore-structural parameters in porous media. In fact, when simultaneously applied, they are of special value as they can provide information not only about the structural details but also about the physical processes involved. This review discusses recent advances in characterization of porous media by combination of adsorption with SAS.
