ABSTRACT The relationships between surface energy and Polymer structure are reviewed and critically discussed. Emphasis is placed on structure/orientation relationships for structurally well-defined amphiphilic polymers and copolymers. Different types of interfaces are also described. It is shown that the influence of the several energy contributions to total surface energy of the polymer are structure dependence. Finally, monolayers at the air-water interface are discussed in terms of the polymer structure.
