ABSTRACT Silicon antimonate was synthesized and characterized using XRD, SEM, FT-IR, differential thermal analysis, thermogravimetric analysis and nitrogen gas adsorption. The as-prepared exchanger was saturated with Na+ to study its ion memory behavior towards Na+ and Cs+ ions. The effect of crystallinity, specific surface area, pore size and pore size distribution of the exchanging materials were taken into consideration. The capacity and selectivity coefficient for Na+ and Cs+ ions were measured for the matrices at different pH values.
