ABSTRACT

Recently our research group has concentrated our efforts on the study of synthetic utilities of NAD(P)H models. Silica gel was found to effectively activate substrates and NAD(P)H models and to catalyze reductions with unique selectivities. Studies on the mechanisms of silica gel catalyzed reaction revealed that silica gel adsorbs the reactants on its surface and accelerate the reaction by acid catalysis of silanol group just like an enzyme.
