ABSTRACT In this work, several aspects of phase diagram research for the epitaxial growth of semiconductors from the liquid phase are discussed. Normally, in the case of solid solutions, non-negligible differences between the calculated and measured data are observed. These discrepancies can be attributed to theoretical and experimental reasons. Some methods to improve the accuracy of the experimental measurements are proposed together with an original method to control the critical supercooling, a very important technological parameter in LPE.
