ABSTRACT

Impedance spectroscopy is an important measurement method of electrochemistry.  As with any experimental technique, well defined measurement conditions and accurate measurements are required.  This chapter concerns the techniques of impedance spectroscopy as applied to electroctrochemical systems.  After short historical background the impedance measurement methods are presented and briefly compared.  The importance of the measurement conditions and the electrochemical cell arrangement is emphasized and methods for data validation and correction are described.
