ABSTRACT In this work, a review of recent advances in the field of the catalytic pyrolysis of polymers is shown. The study has been focused on the dependence of the catalyst activity upon the chemical and structural characteristics of the polymer as well as the physicochemical and textural properties of the catalyst. The composition of the products obtained in the thermal and catalytic pyrolysis carried out in different types of reactors and under different experimental conditions has also been considered and the effect of several variables, such as the residence time, the temperature or the type of zeolite is also studied. Finally, the process of deactivation of the zeolites used as catalysts due to the deposition of coke is studied, and the behaviour of the zeolites during the deactivation and regeneration processes is also analyzed.
