ABSTRACT

This article has been written under the pressure of two main aims 1) to summarize briefly the important role played by an Italian team of scientists driven by professor Vittorio Erspamer in the discovery of bioorganic peptides extractable from the skin of amphibians; and 2) to emphasize some results obtained in extending to domestic animals the effects of some of these peptides.
