ABSTRACT

In recent years, a number of methods for correction of spectral interferences in ICP-OES have been reported. In this paper, the characteristic, advantages as well as the weak points of the more efficient and updated methods such as multiple linear regression, Kalman filter, generalised standard additions method, factor analysis, on-line intelligence background correction, artificial neural networks, Fourier transform deconvolution, wavelet transform and computer spectrum stripping for correcting spectral interferences in ICP-OES are reviewed. Fifty-two references are cited.
