ABSTRACT This review highlights our recent achievements in the knowledge of thermoregulated phase-separable catalysis (TPSC), which provides a very simple and reliable way to deal with the separation of catalyst from products in homogenecus catalysis. We focus on the synthesis of nonionic phosphine ligand, the property of critical solution temperature (CST) of nonionic phosphine ligand in organic solvents and the general principle of TPSC. With particular emphasis, the application of transition metal complex with nonionic phosphine ligand in the hydroformylation and hydrogenation of higher olefins is presented.
