ABSTRACT

A review about the organometallic chemistry of the transition elements, prior and after the discovery of the ferrocene is presented, reporting the influence of this discovery over the classical inorganic and organic chemistry and also over the organometallic chemistry, as well as the resulting developments that were contributed for the begin of the supramolecular chemistry and in the preparation of new high technology materials. Good methods for the preparation of important ferrocene key-intermediates are suggested.
